After many years of the same bland black American Apparel tee with the store name on the front and “Designed in California” on the back, Apple Retail finally started getting innovative with its commemorative tee shirt designs.

Invoking the Green Monster, Boston’s beloved Fenway Park, the shirt given out at the Boylston Street store opening looks like the famed scoreboard at the stadium, spelling out the opening day 15 May 2008.

The back was anticlimactic, though, sticking to script:

The smile on this guy’s face though, after receiving his shirt, is enough to warm any Apple fanboy’s heart:
